ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) MNA Farrukh Habib has taken oath as the Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting (I&B).
President Dr. Arif Alvi administered him the oath at a ceremony at Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad on Thursday. The prime minister had approved Habib’s appointment which was said to be part of the ongoing cabinet shuffle.
Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain congratulated Habib on his or his “well-deserved appointment.”
Farrukh Habib has been a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan since August 2018, as a candidate of PTI from the constituency NA-108 (Faisalabad-VIII).
He started his political career by joining the Insaf Student Federation (ISF) in 2007, after which he became the president of the student wing and the Central Deputy Secretary General of PTI. In September 2018, the prime minister appointed him as the Federal Parliamentary Secretary for Railways.
