ISLAMABAD: A family from Jhal Magsi area of Balochistan has reached Islamabad seeking justice from the persecution by influential landlords and politicians Nadir Khan Magsi and Khalid Magsi.
The family hails from Kirmani Tehsil, Jhal Magsi and currently resides in Osta Muhammad, District Jaffarabad of Balochistan. While speaking to MM News, Arbab Magsi, the eldest daughter of the affected family, said they own 75 acres land which have been occupied by MNA Khalid Khan Magsi and MPA Nadir Khan Magsi.
She said her father Imdad Hussain has been implicated in a false murder case and is in jail while the deputy tehsildar Ali Magsi has threatened them with dire consequences if they do not transfer the land to Nadir and Khalid Magsi.
She said her younger sister Khairul Nisa was abducted by Magsi and kept in their house for a year. Khairul Nisa narrated her ordeal and said that ten men including Rafiq, Saleem, Ghulam Nabim, and Muharram Khan along with six others kidnapped and took her to Magsi’s house.
The men also attacked her family members and were carrying axes and guns during the abduction. They also tortured their father and other women and took her away on a motorcycle. During custody, they threatened her to convince her father to give them the land and also withdraw the kidnapping case.
She said Muharram Khan, a close aide of Nadir and Khalid Magsi, has filed various cases against her brothers, uncles, cousins, and other members of their community. She was her father was present in Shahdadkot, Sindh when an FIR was lodged against them.
Arbab Magsi said they are present in Islamabad for the last four days seeking justice and have place to stay. She said they are helpless and cannot even return to their ancestral area and meet their father in jail.
They expressed fear that they might be killed if they return to Jhal Magsi. They appealed to Chief Justice of Pakistan, prime minister and army chief to provide them justice and drop the fake cases against their father and return their lands as they cannot face these influential politicians.
