ISLAMABAD: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Fahd Husain, has reportedly resigned from his position. According to media reports, Husain met with the Prime Minister and submitted his resignation the other day.
It may be recalled that in May 2022, Fahd Husain was appointed as the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on “Public Policy and Strategic Communications,” with the status of Federal Minister. He was believed to have been assigned the primary task of setting pro-government narrative across all platforms of social and electronic, print media.
Prior to his appointment, he had worked as Dawn’s resident editor in Islamabad and as a senior editor with the Express group, where he served as the executive director news at Express TV and executive editor at The Express Tribune. He has also contributed to several other publications.
The reasons behind Husain’s resignation are currently unknown. However, it is generally believed that his departure comes as yet another strategic move by the federal government to win the ‘battle of narrative’ at different media fronts, at a time when the government is facing a number of challenges, including rising inflation and security concerns.
