Evan Ellingson, a former child actor known for roles in “My Sister’s Keeper” and “CSI Miami,” has died. He was 35.
According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Coroner’s division online records, Ellingson died on Sunday. The record notes he was found in “a bedroom” in the city of Fontana, which is about an hour east of Los Angeles County.
The LA Times reported that San Bernandino police said there were no obvious signs of foul play.

A cause of death has not yet been established. A post-mortem was due to take place on Monday.
Ellingson’s father was contacted by TMZ when the news initially broke and he revealed that his son had battled a drug addiction problem and had passed away at a sober living facility.
He also mentioned how Ellington had been doing well and how his family had been shocked by his passing.
“Evan Ellingson was a kind, funny, and extremely talented human being,” said his former co-star Abigail Breslin in a tribute. In the movie My Sisters Keeper, which I directed, he portrayed my older brother.
Evan Ellingson’s career
Ellingson got his start in Hollywood at the age of 13, with the 2001 TV movie “Living in Fear,” starring Marcia Cross, and additional small roles in “General Hospital” and “Mad TV.”
Ellingson hadn’t appeared on-screen in over a decade. His last role was on “CSI: Miami” in 2010. He also appeared in an episode of “Bones” in 2005, and he’s best known for the 2009 movie “My Sister’s Keeper,” starring Cameron Diaz, Alec Baldwin and Abigail Breslin.

Based on a 2004 novel by Jodi Picoult, the tearjerker film followed a family where one child, Kate (Sofia Vassilieva), suffered from cancer, so her parents conceived her “savior sister,” Anna (Breslin), in order to donate blood stem cells and save Kate.
According to his Facebook page, Ellingson was working for a religious organisation called Teen Challenge South California and his hobbies included surfing, horse riding and hiking.
