ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has condemned blast near Bolton market at MA Jinnah Road in Karachi, which caused death of a woman and injured eleven persons.
The prime minister sympathised with bereaved family members of the woman, who lost her life as well as those injured in the blast.
He directed for early arrest of the culprits and assured all-out assistance of the federal government to the provincial government. He directed all the provinces to improve security arrangements for ensuring law and order and protecting the life and property of the masses.
Besides urging for effective coordination between the federal and provincial governments to improve law and order situation, he directed the provincial governments to deal strictly with the enemies of life and property.
The prime minister directed the Chief Minister Sindh to ensure the provision of best medical facilities to the injured. He also prayed for early recovery of those injured in the blast.
President Dr Arif Alvi also condemned Karachi blast and expressed his deep grief over the loss of precious lives. The president prayed for the departed soul of deceased woman as well as for the fortitude of bereaved family members. He also prayed for the early recovery of the injured.
Bolton market blast
One person died and 11 were injured in a blast near Iqbal Market and New Memon Mosque in Karachi’s Kharadar area The deceased woman was identified as Sania, wife of Khalid. As per media footage, motorcycles and automobiles including a police vehicle were damage.
Karachi police said aid an improvised explosive device (IED) was responsible for the blast. It said that Assistant Sub-inspector Badaruddin was among the injured but was out of danger.
The chief minister sought a report from Sindh Inspector General of Police Mushtaq Ahmed Mahar on the incident.
The blast tonight is the second one to stike Karachi within the span of a week. Last Thursday, one passerby was killed and at least nine injured when an improvised explosive device (IED) planted in a motorbike went off in Saddar.
