KARACHI: In view of the rains in Sindh, the Sindh Education Department has announced a holiday in educational institutions on August 24 and 25 across the province.
All educational institutions, including schools and colleges, will remain closed today and tomorrow. According to the Department of Education, holidays in educational institutions have been planned in anticipation of rains. All schools and colleges under the administration of the Department of Education, Sindh government will be closed today and tomorrow.
Sindh Education Minister Sardar Ali Shah has said that in view of the recent heavy rains, they are declaring a holiday on August 24 and 25. According to the notification issued by the office of Deputy Commissioner Mirpur Khas, a public holiday has been declared in the educational institutions from August 24 to August 26 in the disaster-affected districts of Sindh.

Light and heavy rain is continuing in different areas of Karachi since this morning. Rain water accumulated on the roads in different areas. The people of the city of Qaid are facing difficulties in transportation.
Examinations in educational institutions today and tomorrow have also been postponed. Apart from schools and colleges, the University of Karachi also postponed the exams. Other universities, including Agricultural University, and Tando Jam, will also remain closed today.
In the city of Karachi, the rain continues intermittently in different areas including Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Gulistan-e-Johar, New Karachi, North Karachi, Korangi, Landhi, Qayyumabad, and Defense, while water from the previous rain is still on the roads.
