ISLAMABAD: An earthquake on Thursday jolted several parts of the country, no loss of life or property has been reported thus with the intensity of 5.2 on the Richter scale.
According to the meteorological office (MET), the earthquake was felt in cities such as Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Chakwal, Mardan, Abbottabad, Swat, Rawlakot, Peshawar, and parts of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, reports of tremors came from Swat, Mohmand, Shabqadar, Charsadda, and Bajaur. Residents of Islamabad also confirmed they felt mild to moderate tremors.
The residents of different parts of North Waziristan including Shangla, Bonier, Malakand, Swabi, Naushera and Khyber district also experienced tremors and reported aftershocks as well.
The magnitude of the earthquake was recorded at 5.2 on the Richter scale and its epicenter was the Hindu Kush region. There was no report of any casualty or damage to property in the affected areas.
