Multiple areas of Karachi saw moderate to heavy rainfall on Saturday, the first day of Eid ul Fitr.
Localities including Landhi, Kornagi, Malir, Shah Faisal Colony, Saddar, and areas along II Chundrigar Road experienced intermittent showers, with some locations receiving more intense downpours.
Federal B Area was hit by heavy rain accompanied by strong winds, while Malir Halt, Rifa-e-Aam, and surrounding neighborhoods reported thunderstorms with lightning.
Rain was also observed in Gulshan-e-Iqbal and Gulistan-e-Johar, as cloudy conditions persisted and light to moderate showers continued across parts of the city.
In Defence View, electricity was disrupted shortly after the rainfall began, creating difficulties for residents.
Karachi, the country’s largest city and economic center, has long struggled during prolonged rainfall due to its aging drainage infrastructure and rapid urban growth. In the past, heavy rains have often resulted in waterlogging in low-lying areas and significant disruptions to transportation.
