Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif will inaugurate the e-taxi scheme today, which is being introduced for the first time in the history of Pakistan.
According to the details, 1100 e-vehicles will be provided in the first phase of the e-taxi scheme. In the e-taxi scheme, a 30 percent quota is reserved for women, and in the e-taxi scheme, the color of the vehicle with a lady driver will be different for women.
In the e-taxi scheme, the Punjab government will pay 50 percent of the down payment for male drivers and 60 percent for female drivers.
In the e-taxi scheme, the Punjab government will also pay the registration, fitness test and token tax fees of the vehicles. The dues of the e-taxi scheme will be paid in five easy installments.
To ensure the safety of drivers and passengers, a pink button has been installed in every e-taxi, which is linked to the Punjab Safe City Authority.
The vehicles of the e-taxi scheme will be registered with InDrive and Yanango. Fast charges will be installed for charging vehicles at public places.
Digital payment facility will also be provided in the e-taxi scheme.
