Terrorists attacked the Khazina Police Check Post in Hangu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, killing ten police personnel, including DSP Diyar Khan, and injuring 20 others.
According to police, the militants targeted the Khazina Police Check Post, triggering a heavy exchange of gunfire between security forces and the attackers.
The attack claimed the lives of ten officers, including DSP Diyar Khan, while 20 other personnel were injured.
Police said the officers mounted a strong counteroffensive, killing six terrorists. A search operation is underway in the area to locate and apprehend the attackers who managed to flee.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi strongly condemned the terrorist attack and paid tribute to the fallen officers, including DSP Diyar Khan.
The interior minister expressed his heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the families of the martyrs, saying they had made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty and brought pride to the nation.
