LAHORE: Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information, Firdous Ashiq Awan on Saturday said that the federal government has announced to pay an additional one month’s salary to the doctors.
While speaking to media in Jinnah Hospital in Lahore, Firdous Ashiq Awan said, “The whole nation pays tribute to doctors, nurses, and paramedics who are fighting to combat the coronavirus.”
Awan, while talking about the ration distribution among the needy said that it is impossible for the government to provide ration to millions of people. “We need economic planning amid rising coronavirus cases in the country,” she said.
Awan, moreover, visited the upgraded biosafety lab in Jinnah Hospital. Earlier, she said that the federal government’s package, including food, protective gear will be provided in all provinces across Pakistan.
Addressing the current situation, Awan reiterated that this is not the time for politics. Some people were trying to save their sinking boats by doing politics on coronavirus outbreak, she added.
