The brother and sister who were tortured by Salman Farooqi in DHA Karachi on Sunday have been identified as Hindu siblings Kalpana and Dheeraj.
According to initial reports, the affected siblings belong to the Hindu community and reside in Marwari Lane on Nabi Bakhsh Road, an area known for its religious and ethnic diversity.
On the other hand, sources have claimed that the siblings went missing following alleged misconduct and abuse linked to Salman Farooqi.
Local police have reportedly begun an investigation, though no official statement has been issued as of now regarding Salman Farooqi’s involvement or potential legal action.
Early, after the video of the incident went viral on social media, Sindh police took action and arrested the accused Salman Farooqi.
The incident took place in Defence Phase 6, near Ittehad Commercial, following a minor collision between Faruqi’s vehicle and a motorbike.
Police have a photograph of Salman Farooqi in handcuffs, signaling that the authorities are taking visible steps in the ongoing investigation linked to the alleged abuse of a Hindu family in Karachi.
The image, which shows Farooqi in police custody with his hands cuffed, was shared amid intense backlash on social media and from human rights activists, who demanded accountability and transparency in the case.
