A shocking breach of privacy at a prominent five-star hotel in Jaipur, Indian, has sparked outrage and debate after a video of a couple engaged in intimate moments inside their hotel room went viral on social media.
As per Indian media, the incident occurred at the Holiday Inn near 22 Godown in the city. Around 10 PM, a couple inside a hotel room—visible through large glass windows without curtains—was filmed by a passerby from a nearby road or flyover. The video, taken with a regular mobile phone, captured the couple in a compromising position and was quickly shared online. Within hours, the clip had circulated widely, drawing crowds to the area and causing a traffic jam as onlookers gathered to catch a glimpse of the room.
What has alarmed many is that the footage was not recorded using hidden surveillance or through hotel security lapses, but openly by individuals from the street. Eyewitnesses say several people stopped to record the scene before uploading it online, leading to public commotion and chaos outside the hotel.
The viral video has triggered strong reactions both online and offline. Social media users are sharply divided: some criticized the couple for not drawing the curtains, while many others condemned the individuals who filmed and shared the video, calling it a gross invasion of privacy.
Critics argue that a hotel of this standard should have ensured that all rooms—especially those facing public roads—were equipped with proper curtains or tinted windows. Others emphasized that regardless of the couple’s oversight, recording and broadcasting someone’s private moments without consent is unethical and potentially illegal.
The Jaipur Police have said that strict legal action will be taken against anyone found involved in filming or distributing such private content.
