QUETTA: Rains wreaked havoc in Balochistan, claiming the lives of 21 people and injuring 14, including women and children, in the accidents that occurred during the third spell of catastrophic rains.
The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has confirmed the death of 21 people including 7 men, 7 women, and 6 children during the third spell of heavy rain in Balochistan. Around 7 men, 4 women and 3 children were also injured.
In its report, PDMA said that the highest loss of life due to rains occurred in Chaman, where 8 people died and 5 were injured as a result of rains and devastating floods. Around 251 houses were completely destroyed in the province.
According to the report, 1 thousand 910 houses were partially damaged as a result of the rains, and 3 bridges and 14 roads were also flooded due to the rains. 115 animals also died as a result of various accidents during the rains.
The flood ruts damaged crops spread over 62 acres in the province. PDMA said that measures are being taken to help the victims of accidents during rains.
