MULTAN: Pakistan’s Captain Babar Azam has admitted that his side made mistakes, saying “we could have won the second Test today.”
Addressing a press conference after today’s match in Multan on Monday, he was asked to respond about Saud’s controversial dismissal, to which he said “it costed us, we did think the ball touched the ground, but as professionals, we accept the decision of the umpires.”
Babar Azam said “yes, we were not up to the mark in the first innings. We had a couple of soft dismissals. After that, we had a fightback in the bowling, and second innings, we fought well, but unfortunately, we did not finish it.”
“We have a simple plan to carry on the momentum; we had good partnerships between Imam and Saud and then Saud and Nawaz. The tail also fought well, but we didn’t finish well,” he added.
Babar Azam also said that even against Australia, we did not perform well, and now against England as well.
“We made mistakes in the Test match; we could have won, we didn’t finish well against Australia, and now again, we should have finished well.”
A journo asked Babar about getting all the blame after scoring and after not score in pressure situations, he said “I think I played that innings against Australia,” – referring to his match-saving 196 against Australia in Karachi.
"Australia wala match, wo mere khayal se koi aur nahi, mein hi khela tha."
