Singer Ali Zafar has demanded that Meesha Shafi’s plea should be rejected with a fine.
Meesha Shafi had filed a petition in the court last month seeking completion of his cross-examination in the defamation case through a video link. At the request of Mesha Shafi, Ali Zafar submitted his position in the Sessions Court through his lawyers and opposed the request of the singer.
Ali Zafar, in his reply filed in the court, requested the court to return Mesha Shafi’s application along with the fine. Zafar termed Meesha Shafi’s petition as baseless and a waste of the court’s time and took a stand that the court should reject Meesha Shafi’s petition as inadmissible.

It is to be noted that Shafi had earlier applied for cross-examination through video link, but before the application was decided, she had gone to attend a concert in Dubai.
However, now Additional Sessions Judge Khan Mahmood has summoned the lawyers for discussion on March 19. It is to be noted that Meesha had requested to complete the interrogation through a video link.
