Violence continues to escalate in Kurram district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with 30 more people killed and 50 injured in fresh firing incidents, bringing the death toll to 75 over the past three days.
Moreover, 80 people have been injured over the past three days of clashes as a provincial government delegation reaches Parachinar to find a solution to the escalating violence.
According to police and hospital sources, fresh clashes erupted in several areas of Kurram district, including Bagan, Alizai Balshakhel, Khar Kalay, Maqbal, and Kunj Alizai, since last night. As a result, 30 people from both sides have been killed and 50 injured so far.
In the past three days, 75 people have been killed and 80 injured following the incidents of firing on a convoy of passenger vehicles, as well as firing in other areas, while houses and shops have also been damaged.
The latest spate of violence follows the attack on passenger vehicles two days ago in the Lower Kurram area, resulting in the deaths of 45 people.
Since then, the law and order situation in the area has deteriorated once again, with retaliatory attacks causing further loss of life and injuries.
