BEIJING: Around 65 people have died and many have been injured due to the earthquake in China. The communication system was disrupted and many houses were destroyed due to landslides.
The International News Agency said that the magnitude of the earthquake in China’s southwestern province of Sichuan was 6.8 on the Richter scale, as a result of which more or less 65 people died and many were injured.
The US Geological Survey said that the epicenter was 10 kilometers below the surface. The infrastructure in the affected areas was badly affected due to the earthquake. Citizens of China were also deprived of electricity in the affected areas.
The Chinese government is active in helping earthquake victims. The relief operation has been started. The world news agency (Reuters) says that this is the strongest earthquake to hit China since 2017, affecting hundreds of people.

As soon as the earthquake was reported, the Chinese government agencies and rescue workers started the work of transferring the dead and injured people to hospitals in different areas. Aid is being given to dozens of earthquake victims.
The Chinese government said that about 250 people who were injured in the earthquake received medical attention. Due to the serious injuries of dozens of citizens, the death toll from the earthquake in China is expected to increase.
Work is underway to restore the communication system, water, and electricity facilities damaged by the earthquake in the affected areas. China’s official media say that the government machinery is constantly in motion to help the people.
