DASKA: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz has asserted that Daska by-election was not just an election but a war against those who steal people’s vote.
She expressed her views while addressing a public gathering in Sialkot’s Daska town on Saturday ahead of by-polls scheduled to be held on February 19 for the National Assembly seat.
The PML-N leader also accused Prime Minister Imran Khan of coming into power through backdoor, saying that he was brought into power to serve the nation but “he is busy in serving his selectors”.
The PML-N leader said for the first time in history the people of Punjab have stood up for their rights and refused to bow down to tyranny. “PML-N stalwart Khawaja Asif belonging to Sialkot district was arrested because he refused to stop supporting the party supremo, Nawaz Sharif,” she added.
“I endured hardships but never left Nawaz’s side,” she said, adding that the incumbent government was working hand in glove with those who minted money out of flour and sugar crises.
She also said, “Today people are missing tenure of Nawaz Sharif who ended power load-shedding and terrorism from the country,” adding, ““I am very upset that Shehbaz Sharif was taken away from the people of Punjab.”
Talking about the long march, she said the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) will hold a long march towards Islamabad at any cost. “Caravans of long march will leave for Islamabad on March 26. Opposition parties and Nawaz Sharif will not give National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) to PM Imran Khan,” she reiterated.
