The Meteorological Department has warned that the low-pressure system in the Arabian Sea has intensified into a depression, which is currently located about 400 kilometers south of the Sindh coast.

Due to this situation, the Tropical Cyclone Warning Center Karachi issued a cyclone alert on Friday. According to the Meteorological Department, the system is located at 21° North latitude and 67.9° East longitude and is moving within the Arabian Sea.

Over the next 24 hours, the effects of this weather system are expected in the form of rain, thunderstorms, and strong winds in Sindh’s coastal districts. There are chances of light rain in Tharparkar, Umerkot, Badin, Thatta, Sujawal, Tando Muhammad Khan, Hyderabad, Matiari, Jamshoro, and Karachi.

Residents of these areas have been advised to take precautionary measures as unstable weather conditions will continue.

The Meteorological Department has warned that strong winds of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour are likely near the Sindh coast, while high waves and rough sea conditions will make the Arabian Sea extremely dangerous for small boats and fishermen.

Fishermen have been strictly instructed not to venture into the deep sea until October 3. In addition, coastal and port authorities have been put on high alert, and relevant institutions have been directed to remain prepared to deal with any emergency situation.
