ISLAMABAD: The federal government has prepared cyber rules to ensure the security of sensitive institutions to prevent audio leaks.

According to the details, the principled decision to prepare rules for the security of all important and sensitive offices was taken by the Ministry of Information Technology under the leadership of Federal IT Minister Syed Aminul Haq. The purpose of preparing the rules is to make the security arrangements foolproof.

In the recent past, after the audio leaks from other important institutions, including the Prime Minister’s Office, came to light, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and other ministers asked tough questions.

The Ministry of Information Technology says that the main purpose of the rules is to provide cyber security.

In order to control incidents like audio leaks in the future, IT Ministry officials have decided to issue early alerts to sensitive institutions. The security rules were prepared in light of the recommendations of the inquiry committee, the draft of which was shared with the stakeholders.

Stakeholders are directed to submit their suggestions for further improvement of the proposed rules.
