PESHAWAR: Following the rise in coronavirus cases in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the local administration of Peshawar has decided to impose a smart lockdown in four more areas from today.
Kotla Mohsin Khan, Hayatabad Phase 5, Gulabad No. 2, and Sikandar Town areas will be locked down from 6 pm today. A notification has also been issued banning the transport system in the affected areas.
On the other hand, 83 deaths have been reported in Pakistan in the last 24 hours due to coronavirus as the number of positive cases has reached 462814. The death toll has risen to 9,557 nationwide.

According to the latest statistics from the National Command and Operations Center, coronavirus has been confirmed in 2142 people in the last 24 hours. Sindh is the worst affected province by the epidemic while Punjab has surpassed Sindh in the highest number of deaths.
So far 206489 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 133179 in Punjab, 55811 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 36483 in Islamabad, 17980 in Balochistan, 8040 in Azad Kashmir, and 4832 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
In addition, 3732 people have contracted epidemics in Punjab, 3379 in Sindh, 1563 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 394 in Islamabad, 211 in Azad Kashmir, 179 in Balochistan, and 99 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
