COVID-19 claims 15 more lives in Pakistan, death toll reaches 6,097

ISLAMABAD: Fifteen more people have died of coronavirus in Pakistan while 539 new cases have been reported in the last 24 hours.
 The number of confirmed coronavirus cases has surged to 284,659 in the country, while the death toll stands at 6,097, while 260,248 corona patients have recovered across the country.
The number of coronavirus in Pakistan is declining rapidly and according to the data released by the National Command and Operational Center. During the last 24 hours, 23,390 corona tests were performed. A total of 2,127,089 tests have been performed on COVID-19 across the country.
The number of coronavirus patients in Sindh has risen to 123,546 and 34,635 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. There are 11,884 corona patients in Balochistan, 15,241 in Islamabad, 2,134 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, 2,321 in Gilgit-Baltistan and 94,360 in Punjab.

The death toll from the coronavirus has risen to 2,169 in Punjab, 2,262 in Sindh, 1,230 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 171 in Islamabad, 137 in Balochistan, 58 in Azad Kashmir and 55 in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Coronavirus testing capacity in the country has exceeded 60,000 per day. And 132 testing laboratories are working. Trace, test, and quarantine strategies are working effectively in 30 cities.
The first case of corona in Pakistan was registered on 26th February. The country currently has the fourth-highest number of confirmed cases in Asia, after India, Iran, and Saudi Arabia, the second-highest number of confirmed cases in South Asia, coming after India, and the 14th highest number of confirmed cases in the world.
