KARACHI: A court has dismissed an application filed by a seminary teacher seeking bail in a case relating to child pornography.
The accused faces serious charges with concrete evidence available on record to corroborate them. The accused is not entitled to any concession at this stage of the trial.
As per the prosecution, the accused who is a religious tutor was arrested over allegations of child pornography and harassing a teenage girl. A mobile phone was recovered from his possession with obscene images of the minor victim in the device.
In this regard, the FIA’s Cyber Crime Circle had arrested him on a complaint lodged by a woman. According to the complainant, her daughter had been physically abused by the religious teacher who took her obscene pictures and later used them to harass and blackmail her, demanding money.

Last month, an eight-year-old student was tortured to death by his teacher for not memorizing a Quran lesson. A student of Quran memorization at a seminary named named Mubashir Yaseen was tortured by his teacher Imran Yaqub for not remembering a lesson.
According to police, the condition of the 8-year-old child deteriorated during the violence and the student died before receiving medical treatment. As soon as the incident was reported, police arrested accused Imran Yaqub and the body of the student was shifted to DHQ Hospital for autopsy.
