LAHORE: A man and a woman were shot dead allegedly by the opposing party as they appeared before a local court in Lahore on Thursday.
The victims were identified by authorities as Sughra Bibi and Muhammad Amin.
As per details, armed men opened fire on them as they were entering the Lahore session court today in preparation for a hearing. It is still unknown why the fatal shooting occurred.
Notably, both victims were present in court as a result of a case in which three members of their family were allegedly murdered over a property dispute.
In response to the distressing situation, a heavy contingent of police promptly arrived at the court premises, swiftly cordoning off the area. Investigations into the incident were initiated to gather evidence and bring the perpetrators to justice.
Last year, a two-month-old girl was strangled to death and her father and mother were slaughtered in the washroom of their residence with their hands cuffed behind their backs in Lahore by unidentified suspects.
