Lahore police on Saturday registered an FIR against the owners of a house for torturing their 10-year-old maid, which resulted in her death, a private TV channel reported.
As per the FIR registred in Hanjarwal Police Station, Nosheen Farrukh and Farrukh Butt tortured Sonia due to which she got seriously injured. But instead of taking her to a hospital, they told her parents that she had received a minor injury to her arm.
“When Sonia’s parents sent one of their relatives to Lahore to inquire about the situation, he found both husband and wife beating up the little girl with sticks. When her parents returned from Arifwala, they found their child lying dead on the floor,” read the FIR.
Rabia, the mother of the deceased, told the police that Nosheen and her husband had killed her daughter because she did not work well. “They did not even take her to a hospital, which led to her death,” she added. Rabia appealed to the police high-ups to provide her justice.
It should be noted that this is not the first crime against minor home maids in Punjab, in the past several such cases were also reported.
