LORALAI: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) has killed seven terrorists belonging to the banned outfit during a raid at their hideout in Pakistan’s southwest Balochistan province.
According to details, the CTD, acting on a tip-off about the presence of terrorists, conducted a raid operation at Loralai, Kohar Dam during which the accused exchanged fire. The CTD personnel conducted the operation during which the terrorists opened fire on the police party, according to the CTD in Loralai.
An exchange of fire between militants and police killed seven terrorists on the spot, the CTD said, adding that three of their accomplices managed to escape.
Police said that a search operation has been kicked off in the surrounding areas to arrest on-the-run terrorists. A huge cache of arms and ammunition, including explosives, hand grenades, and assault rifles were also recovered from the hideout during the operation.
Earlier, the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) had launched an operation in Quetta during which five terrorists were killed in an exchange of fire.
The CTD conducted the operation last month in the Hazar Ganji area of Quetta. Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the possession of the terrorists. The slain terrorists were involved in anti-national activities.
In this regard, the CTD said that the operation against terrorists was carried out on a tip-off. Five terrorists were killed in an exchange of fire in Hazar Ganji and the Counter-terrorism operations will continue.
