ISLAMABAD: A further 48 people have lost their lives in Pakistan due to the coronavirus and the total number of deaths has risen to 11,103.
According to the National Command and Control Center, 1,772 new cases of corona have been reported in 24 hours and the total number of affected people has reached 524,783. In the country, 478,517 people have recovered and the number of active patients is 35,163.
The number of coronavirus cases in Islamabad is 40,304, in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 64,078, in Sindh 237,308, in Punjab 150,889, in Balochistan 18,640, in Azad Kashmir 8,672 and in Gilgit-Baltistan 4 892 people have been infected with corona.
The highest number of deaths due to coronavirus was in Punjab where 4,476 people lost their lives while 3,830 in Sindh, 1,799 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 460 in Islamabad, 102 in Gilgit-Baltistan, 191 in Balochistan and 245 people have lost their lives in Azad Kashmir.
The first 50,000 cases came to light in 86 days and the last 50,000 cases in just 22 days. The first case of coronavirus in Pakistan came to light on February 26, while the first death from coronavirus was reported on March 18.
