ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) will announce the reserved verdict of the Special Advisor to the PM on Broadcasting Firdous Ashiq Awan in the contempt of court cases on 25th November.
IHC Chief Justice Athar Minallah earlier today reserved the verdict in the contempt of court cases and would announce it after 11 days.
During the hearing, IHC Chief Justice questioned Firdous Ashiq Awan and Aviation Minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan for their comments against the medical board.
Chief Justice said, ‘Do you realize what you said? You went against the medical board.”
He also stated that the minister’s statement falls under the category of contempt of court.

The chief justice said, “You have tried to raise doubts about the judicial decision.”
The aviation minister responded that he only expressed doubt over the medical boards’ decision to grant the former premier bail on medical grounds.
On 29th October, Awan held a press conference where she remarked that the IHC’s decision an open a floodgate of similar requests by prisoners suffering from various diseases.

In this regard, the IHC issued a notice to Awan under Section 3 of the Contempt of Court Ordinance, 2003, according to which she maligned the court while giving a statement that the hearing of a petition on the release of former premier Nawaz Sharif was a special dispensation.
