ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has expressed its displeasure over the non-appearance of the IG in the contempt of court case.
According to the details, IHC judge Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb was angry over the non-appearance of the IG in the contempt of court case on the arrest of former federal minister Shireen Mazari despite the court order. The court inquired from Advocate Iman Mazari that the IG did not come.
Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb remarked that this is a case of contempt of court, the Inspector General (IG) should have been here. The Additional Attorney General informed the court that the IG, who is before Bench One, will appear for some time, to which the court expressed surprise.

High Court judge Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb said that on the first day, the entire machinery of the state is active. Shireen Mazari’s arrest is not related to MPO. “Let me tell you that what is happening is not related to the cases. Everything is happening in politics. They are not related to the cases,” he said.
The court remarked that the arrest of Shireen Mazari has nothing to do with the lack of peace. “The entire state machinery was involved in politics. If you had told us, we would have heard other cases. The IG preferred DC Pindi’s order over the court’s order,” he added.
Later, summoning the IG Islamabad in a personal capacity on May 31, the court ordered him to submit a written reply before the hearing.
