Comedian and YouTuber Aun Ali Khosa was reportedly abducted from his home on Wednesday night by masked men.
His brother, Ali Sher Khosa, shared the news on X, stating that these individuals forcibly took Aun from his apartment in Lahore. Ali Sher stressed that such extreme measures do not resolve issues but instead heighten tensions.
Aun is currently in the custody of unknown individuals, with the circumstances of his abduction still unclear. The Khosa family is deeply worried about his safety and urgently calls for prayers and support. They also encourage the public to spread awareness about this alarming situation.
It’s worth noting that the abduction of social media activists has become increasingly common in Pakistan in recent months. Last month, the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) launched a social media campaign drawing attention to the abductions of its activists and their relatives across the country.
The PTI has shared images of 10 missing social media activists, including Ahmed Waqas Janjua, the party’s international media coordinator, who was taken from his home in Islamabad early one Saturday morning. Janjua has also served as a media adviser to PTI founder Imran Khan.
The party also posted CCTV footage showing Janjua’s enforced disappearance at the hands of individuals in plainclothes and police officers.
