RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Gen Asim Munir asked youth not to fell prey to propaganda being spread on social media as it aims at creating despair and chaos in the country.
COAS was addressing the Pakistan National Youth Conference in Islamabad on Wednesday. He said there was a need to verify the news stories shared on social media, adding that the society remained chaotic in absence of “positive thinking and research”.
He reiterated that Pakistan Army was ready to deal with all sorts of internal and external threats and conspiracies, adding that no compromise will be made on sovereignty of Pakistan.
The purpose of creating Pakistan was that our religion, civilization, and culture are different from Hindus in every respect, and not to adopt Western civilization and culture, he highlighted.
He stressed that the youth should have immense confidence in their homeland, nation, culture, civilization, and themselves.
“The young generation of our country are the custodians of the bright traditions of this nation and country, and the interpreters of the dreams of Iqbal and the Quaid,” he said.
COAS said Allah Almighty has blessed Pakistan with abundant mineral resources, agriculture, and a youthful workforce. “If Pakistan exists, so do we; if not, we are nothing,” he said.
