Cargo ship stranded in coastal area of Karachi’s Mubarak Village

KARACHI: An unidentified cargo vessel laden with coal has reportedly been trapped in the coastal area of Mubarak Village, causing panic among local fishermen.

The incidents could result in a serious situation if the ship collides with the coastal cliffs if no action is taken.

The coal cargo of the ship belongs to a power company based in Balochistan, sources said. Pollution is likely to cause if the measures would not be taken immediately. 

Local fishermen said that the ship was trapped in the rocky areas along the shores of Mubarak Village and it was not possible to evacuate the ship due to stormy waves.

Mubarak Village Councilor Sarfraz Aaron expressed concerns over the ship’s contamination.
