KARACHI: Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah has lifted ban on pillion riding in the metropolis on the eve of New Year. This came minutes after provincial minister Sharjeel Memon took to Twitter to announce ‘no ban’ on pillion riding in Karachi.

Commissioner Karachi on Friday, it may be recalled, had announced a ban on pillion riding for two days, starting December 31.
According to a notification issued by the Office of the Commissioner, the ban will be effective on December 31 and January 1. Women, children, senior citizens, journalists, law enforcement agencies’ personnel in uniform and employees of other essential services are exempted from the ban.
