BAHAWALPUR: Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi has taken notice of the incidents of the possession and sale of drugs on the premises of Islamia University Bahawalpur.
The chief minister has formed a 3-member inquiry committee to investigate the matter which has been blown out of proportion after it was revealed that thousands of indecent videos of female students were used to blackmail and sell drugs.
The committee includes Secretary Minerals Babar Aman, DIG Amin Bukhari and DIG Raja Faisal The committee will investigate the scandal from all aspects and determine the persons involved. The committee will submit its report to the Chief Minister of Punjab.

RPO Bahawalpur Rai Babar Saeed has formed a 5-member special investigation team to probe the incident after reports of the widespread use of drugs on campus to students. The scandal revealed that drugs were sold to female students to blackmail and harass them.
The committee comprises of SP Investigation, DSP Crime, DSP Legal Team and the SHO of the concerned police station and the investigation officer have been made a part of the team.
According to the notification, the purpose of setting up the investigation team is to conduct a transparent investigation, while the SP Investigation has been directed to submit the report at the earliest.
It should be noted that a drug scandal has come to light in Islamia University Bahawalpur. It was also revealed that 5000 indecent videos were also recovered from the mobile phone of the arrested chief security officer Ijaz Shah.
According to the report, efforts are being made by the police authorities to suppress the matter of the videos a conspiracy to defame the university.
DPO Abbas Shah has dismissed the allegations. He said that 113 students with drug records have been revealed at the university,
In this regard, the report sent to Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi revealed that hundreds of videos of female students were found in the possession of Ejaz Shah.
