Chief Minister Punjab Usman Buzdar strongly criticised the opposition and said it has nothing other than politics during the COVID-19 outbreak.
In a statement, Usman Buzdar said, “Opposition parties are doing politics even in this crucial time when the country is facing COVID-19 outbreak.”
“The opposition has been raising false claims against the incumbent government,” he said by adding that “The government is helping the citizens practically, who are passing through the worst time due to the outbreak of the virus,” he further added.
The chief minister said that the government is fully aware of the problems people are facing. “The state is serving the people in every best possible manner it could,” he added.
Earlier, the chief minister announced that needy families would be given financial aid under Ramazan Package and added that necessary procedure will be devised at the earliest. “The government wants to give relief to the maximum number of people and it has also decided not to establish Ramazan Bazaars,” he said.
He also directed to take effective measures to stabilise the prices. Buzdar insisted that no one would be allowed to create an artificial price hike and administrative measures would be utilised to provide essential items at the fixed rates. “Unlawful increase in the rates of essential items will not be tolerated and the government will make every effort to provide relief to the people, he added.
