Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur is set to inaugurate a state-of-the-art jogging and cycling track in Hayatabad, developed as part of Phase 2 of the Peshawar Uplift Program.
The newly completed Sections A and B mark the region’s first recreational facility constructed to international standards, offering residents a modern and environmentally conscious space for physical activity.
Stretching six kilometers along the Hayatabad Khwar, the track has been designed to promote health and wellness within a sustainable urban landscape.
Commissioner Riaz Mahsud, who is overseeing the project, recently visited the site to inspect final preparations. He was accompanied by project engineers during a test walk along the track, which features numerous enhancements aimed at user convenience and environmental improvement.
Built to modern specifications, the 20-foot-wide track is complemented by five-foot-wide greenbelts on either side, landscaped with tall trees and decorative shrubs to provide shade and help reduce air pollution.
Rest areas are positioned at every kilometer and include open-air gym equipment, public restrooms, tuck shops, and other key amenities.
