The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced its annual men’s team rankings update, revealing major changes across formats, with Pakistan slipping in several tables while Sri Lanka emerged as a key mover.
In Test cricket, Australia retained their top position with a rating of 126, though their lead narrowed slightly. England, following a strong year under Ben Stokes, rose to second place with a rating of 113, pushing South Africa and India to third and fourth, respectively. The top 10 saw no other positional changes, with Pakistan in seventh. Ireland and Afghanistan remain unranked due to insufficient matches.
India solidified their dominance in ODIs after winning the 2025 Champions Trophy, increasing their rating to 124. New Zealand climbed to second, overtaking Australia. Sri Lanka jumped to fourth after impressive series wins, leapfrogging Pakistan, who now sit fifth. South Africa slipped to sixth, while Afghanistan rose to seventh. England, West Indies, and Bangladesh round out the top 10.
In T20Is, India continue to lead, followed closely by Australia and England. Sri Lanka’s strong recent form propelled them to seventh, ahead of Pakistan, now in eighth. Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Ireland complete the top 11.
The USA posted the highest ODI rating increase but remain 15th. Oman overtook Canada for 16th as most other teams held their positions.
