ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Shibli Faraz has said that despite having no majority in the National Assembly, Asif Zardari’s claim of victory of Yousuf Raza Gilani has proved the opposition’s involvement in dirty politics of sale and purchase of loyalties.
On a social media website Twitter, the minister said that the two political parties – the PPP and the PML- N were responsible for earning bad name for the politics and politicians.
They signed Charter of Democracy but backtracked from the agreement and promoted the horse trading, Shibli Faraz said.

Earlier, Shibli Faraz had said the opposition’s stance against open balloting in the Senate election is illogical and beyond comprehension.
Talking to the media, the minister said instead of supporting the government’s efforts to introduce electoral reforms, the opposition was creating a hurdle by opposing open balloting in the senate election.
“PTI wants to bring transparency in the electoral process to make the Parliament true representative of the people,” he added.
Shibli Faraz said people are desirous of transparent Senate elections and the government is fully determined to this end. He said the politics of money needs to be ended and candidates should be elected on the basis of their capabilities.
