The College of Nursing at Dr. Ruth K.M. Pfau Civil Hospital Karachi, in partnership with Dr. Essa Laboratory/Diagnostic Centre, recently organized a Continuing Medical Education (CME) seminar focused on Breast Cancer Awareness.
The event featured an engaging session on prevention and early detection, followed by an awareness discussion for both students and faculty.
Principle Khair-Un-Nisa stressed the importance of continuous medical education, expressing appreciation to the guest speakers, hosts, participants, faculty, students, and Dr. Essa Laboratory for their meaningful contributions.
The seminar aimed to equip students and faculty with in-depth knowledge on breast cancer awareness, highlighting the value of early detection and preventive strategies.
Keynote speaker Prof. Dr. Tazeen Saeed (former Dean, AKU SONM) presented research on early breast cancer detection and advocated for specialized oncology nursing education. Ms. Mehmooda Khawaja, Principal of the School of Midwifery at Lady Dufferin Hospital, shared her expert insights.
Moreover, Ms. Shehla Pardhan, Research Faculty at the College of Nursing, addressed topics on breast cancer diagnosis, prevention, and management. Concluding the seminar, Ms. Sajida, Nursing Lecturer at the College of Nursing, discussed breast anatomy, self-examination techniques, and early detection methods.
