Fans of “The Princess Diaries” franchise will be happy to know that Chris Pine has expressed his willingness to reprise his role in Genovia for any future installments of the film series. He joined the franchise during its sequel, ‘The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement’, as Lord Nicholas Deveraux, Princess Mia Thermpolis’ (Anne Hathaway) rival turned romantic partner. The 2004 film was Pine’s feature film debut.
Recently in a brief interview, Pine talked about his interest in participating in The Princess Diaries 3. “Yeah, I’m here! I’m here for it. Give me a phone call or an email,” he told a publication.
On the work front, Pine is slated to appear in Poolman (which he also directs), an untitled Star Trek sequel, and Newsflash, where he will portray famed broadcast journalist Walter Cronkite. He will also lend his voice to Robot Chicken and Disney’s Wish.

The Princess Diaries, which premiered in 2001, starred Hathaway and Julie Andrews as Mia and Queen Clarisse Renaldi, respectively. As Mia, Hathaway portrayed an awkward teenager who discovers she is actually royalty. The popular film, which grossed over $165 million worldwide, was followed up with its 2004 sequel, which saw Mia returning to Genovia following her Princeton University graduation. Hathaway has yet to confirm any involvement in the franchise’s third film,
