ISLAMABAD: The newly-appointed Ambassador of China to Pakistan Nong Rong has called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa.
According to a press release, issues of mutual interest and the situation in the region were discussed during the meeting. It may be recalled that the new Chinese Ambassador had met Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi last week.
Bilateral relations between the two countries and issues of mutual interest, including the situation in coronavirus, were discussed during the meeting.
During the meeting, the foreign minister had said that steps were being taken to ensure speedy completion of all ongoing projects under the second phase of CPEC.
FM Qureshi, while congratulating the Chinese Ambassador on assuming office, said that the whole world knows the ideal fraternal relations and everlasting friendship between Pakistan and China.
He said that Pakistan and China fully supported each other in every difficult and difficult time. The timely assistance provided by China to deal with Corona is commendable.

During the meeting, the Chinese Ambassador assured that he would do his utmost to further strengthen bilateral relations. It may be recalled that in September, the Chinese embassy in Pakistan had said that it appreciated the statement made by Prime Minister Imran Khan on Pak-China relations.
In a statement issued from Islamabad, the Chinese embassy said that it also appreciated the role of Pakistan’s CP Authority in advancing CPEC.
