The price of chicken has seen a slight decline in Lahore and Multan amid a downward inflation trend in the country.
In Lahore, the price of chicken meat has dropped by Rs18 per kilogram, bringing the cost of broiler meat down to Rs577 per kilogram from yesterday’s Rs595. The price of live broiler chicken has also decreased by Rs13, with the wholesale rate now at Rs384 per kilogram and the retail rate at Rs398 per kilogram.
In Multan, live broiler chicken prices have fallen by Rs14 per kilogram, with the wholesale rate now at Rs372 per kilogram and the retail price at Rs386 per kilogram.
Last month, chicken prices saw an unprecedented surge of nearly 100% across the country. In the federal capital, Islamabad, the price of chicken meat skyrocketed to Rs880 per kilogram, marking a sharp increase of Rs430 within a week.

In Lahore, broiler chicken meat prices exceeded Rs700 per kilogram, with reports from Tollinton Market indicating sales at Rs730 per kilogram—significantly higher than the government’s official price of Rs595 per kilogram. This growing disparity between official rates and market prices highlights ongoing volatility in the poultry market.
