ISLAMABAD: The Foreign Office on Wednesday summoned a senior diplomat from the Indian High Commission to register a complaint at the ceasefire violations by Indian troops along the Line of Control (LoC).
Foreign Office spokesperson Aisha Farooqui said in a statement, a 40- year-old civilian, a resident of village Mandhar, suffered severe injuries due to arbitrary and unprovoked firing by Indian occupation military personnel.
The Spokesperson further said in the statement, the Indian troops along the LoC and Working Boundary have continuously been targeting the civilian population with shells by using heavy weapons, as well as automatic weapons.
Moreover, the statement from the foreign office stated, “This unprecedented escalation in ceasefire violations by India is continuing from the year 2017 when the Indian forces committed 1970 ceasefire violations. This year India has committed 384 ceasefire violations to date.”
The foreign officer was quoted saying that the ceasefire violations by India were a threat to regional peace and security and it might lead to a strategic miscalculation.
