ISLAMABAD: An officer of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has allegedly embezzled over eight million rupees.
A citizen named Zafar Iqbal filed a case at the Shalimar police station. The man claimed that CDA officer Haroon Pasha demanded a sum of eight million and thirty thousand rupees for selling a plot of land measuring 135 Kanals.
The man alleged that Haroon Pasha and his wife Nadia Haroon were involved in the embezzlement. After the cheque was encashed, Zafar found out that property documents were counterfeit and bogus.
The CDA officer agreed to return the amount but the cheque was dishonoured. The aggrieved man pleaded that the strict action should be taken against the official. However, Police have not taken any action against the influential officer.
