LAHORE: Captain (R) Safdar’s coronavirus test has turned out to be positive.
Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) leader Captain (retd) Safdar has isolated himself after the test report came. He will spend 15 days in quarantine, as per the sources.
Captain (retd) Safdar complained of cold and fever after which he underwent for coronavirus test. Earlier, Pakistan Peoples Party’s (PPP) Punjab president Qamar Zaman Kaira tested positive for coronavirus. He was present in Gilgit-Baltistan during the election campaign.
It may be recalled that Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Ali Zaidi, Aamir Liaqat Hussain, PML-N leader Shahbaz Sharif, Musaddiq Malik, former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Hamza Shahbaz, Maryam Aurangzeb, and Maulabakhsh Chandio have also recovered from coronavirus.

Pakistan has so far reported 344,839 cases of coronavirus, and the total death toll has reached 6,97. Experts warn that the country is currently experiencing a second wave of the virus as cases are rising steadily.
Moreover, the National Command and Operations Center warns that the proportion of coronavirus positive cases in Pakistan’s major cities are growing rapidly.
Nationwide, the incidence of coronavirus cases rose to 4.5 percent. The rate of coronavirus positive cases is very high in 15 major cities. Hyderabad has the highest rate of positive cases in the country with 16.59 percent. The coronavirus positive case rate in Gilgit is 15.38 percent and in Multan, it is 15.97 percent.
