ISLAMABAD: The body of a girl has been desecrated in Gujrat district, on which the deceased’s relatives are protesting.
The body of a disabled girl was taken out of the grave and desecrated in Gujarat yesterday. The girl’s uncles said that their disabled niece, who was 18 years old and was completely mentally and physically disabled and she passed away on April 4.
The uncle of the deceased girl said in the petition that we had buried the girl. However, the next morning when they went to her grave to offer Fateha, they saw that her grave had been dug and the body was lying outside the grave.
He said that unknown people had desecrated his niece by digging her body out of her grave. He appealed to IG Police Punjab to take action against unknown persons and bring them to justice.

Furthermore, after completion of postmortem and other legal proceedings on the body of the disabled girl, the body has been re-buried under tight security.
Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz has sought report from Commissioner and RPO Sahiwal about the desecration of a minor girl’s dead body at a graveyard in Okara.
In a statement, he directed to take stern legal action against those accused and ordered effective measures to prevent such incidents in future. He directed that proper lighting should be arranged in the grave and those who visit graveyards at night should be closely monitored.
Meanwhile, Police Station B Division Okara registered a case against the accused and arrested two persons including a grave digger.
