The incumbent government decided on Tuesday to further expand the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) in the budget for the forthcoming fiscal year.
According to details, a proposal has been presented to increase the BISP budget by 21% for allocating Rs716billion for the programme.
As part of this expansion, the Kafalat Programme will be extended to 10million households, allowing more eligible individuals to receive financial assistance.
In addition, the Educational Stipends Programme will also see an increase, with educational support being provided to 12 million children under the scheme.
