ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Thursday met his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov here on the sidelines of the meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation’s Council of Foreign Ministers being held in Goa, India.
FM Bilawal is currently in Goa, India to attend the Council of Foreign Ministers (CFM) summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) at the invitation of the Minister for External Affairs of the Republic of India, who is currently serving as the SCO’s chair.
During the meeting, they discussed bilateral, regional and international matters of mutual interest.
At the meeting, Bilawal assured his Russian counterpart of close cooperation in food security, energy, and people-to-people contacts. Bilawal said that the SCO opened new vistas of cooperation and coordination with Russia.
Earlier on his arrival in India, Bilawal shared his satisfaction in attending the SCO CFM and expressed hope for its success.
