KARACHI: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) has announced bank holiday on May 1, 2024 (Wednesday) on account of Labor Day.
According to the notice issued by the SBP, banks nationwide will be closed on May 1st, as declared a public holiday by the Government of Pakistan.
“The State Bank of Pakistan will be closed on May 1, 2024 (Wednesday) in observance of Labor Day, a public holiday designated by the Government of Pakistan,” the notification stated.
Internationally recognized as Labor Day or May Day, May 1st is a day dedicated to showing solidarity with workers and acknowledging the rights of the working class.
This day serves as a tribute to the efforts and accomplishments of workers worldwide, emphasizing the importance of ensuring job security and safeguarding against exploitation in the workforce.
